Job Summary

You will work in Karlskrona within the development organization for Operations Support Systems (OSS) within Business Unit Digital Services. Our responsibility in Karlskrona is the development of products within the Provisioning and Activation area, i.e. activation of Subscribers, Services and Resources. Currently we have ~400 installations worldwide and our products serve over 2 billion users. You will be at the forefront of Ericsson’s 5G core development. We use technologies like Java, Scala, AKKA, Cassandra, OpenStack, Docker and Kubernetes. Development is done according to Agile principles in multi-functional self-organized teams with typically 5-7 Developers. Cornerstones in our development are a very high level of test automation, continuous integration and daily deliveries in the DevOps approach. Our organization is due to its moderate size very familiar and has short decision paths.

Unit Description

Ericsson Digital Services helps service providers prosper in the digital economy. From improving the way service providers engage with their customers to automating operations, we're helping service providers reach new levels of programmability, access and agility – levels that digital natives call home. We provide solutions consisting of software and services in the areas of Digital Business Support Systems (BSS), Operational Support Systems (OSS), Cloud Communication, Cloud Core, and Cloud Infrastructure. The portfolio is focused on 5G-ready, cloud-native, automated and industrialized solutions to secure a smooth digitalization journey towards 5G.

Ongoing digitalization, together with virtualization and the introduction of 5G is driving new opportunities for service providers. It gives possibilities to capitalize on the investments better by programming and slicing 4G and 5G networks for specific consumer and industry needs. It also gives possibilities to automate operations and become radically more efficient and to serve and engage with customers digitally.


Responsibilities & Tasks


  • Deal with customer support request according to the defined process
  • Provide support in technical query and source code level solving to problems reported by Ericsson 1st line engineer
  • Register trouble report with recommendation of the solution towards the Design Maintenance team when identifying SW bugs.
  • Take 24/7 emergency duty and support on critical cases
  • Collect feedback from the customer side and submit to R&D program to continue improving product
  • Continuously update the knowledge base
  • Participate in FFI (First feature introduction) activity
  • Provide on-site support when needed
  • Support in serviceability and service preparation activities



  • B.SC or M.SC or similar in telco relevant area (SW development)
  • Cassandra database knowledge is a bonus
  • Knowledge in Cloud Native and Kubernetes
  • Experience in function test and system test
  • Problem-solving experience in complex systems
  • Working experience in area >5 years
  • Support role requires that you are able to work under high pressure from customer/local company
  • The work is very collaborative, so we want great teammates
  • To communicate with customers/local companies in stressful situations require good communication skills


This position will report to Product Development Leader.
