Who we are
Common Hardware Design at Lindholmen and Kista develops Mechanical, Thermal, Industrial design and Power solutions for most of the Ericsson Radio, Transport and Baseband product portfolios, including 5G.
Goal with this Master Thesis
At Common Hardware design we currently run around 30 Early Technology projects in which we encourage our employees to incorporate innovative ideas. Our intention is to increase the level of innovation in these projects by growing the number of employee ideas and hence find ways to spark employee engagement. This includes looking into the innovation process at Common Hardware design by exploring employees’ engagement, or lack thereof, to actively participate in the Early Technology program and the innovation process. Thus, the purpose of this master thesis is to suggest improvements that could strengthen innovative work and improve the innovation culture at Common Hardware Design.
The Master Thesis in short:
- Review the literature on employee innovation, employee engagement and innovation culture.
- Interviews with employees and managers to understand the current situation
- Discussions with employees and managers to develop suggestions for improvements
Literature review, adopting and developing theoretical framework(s), interviews with employees and managers, analyzing strategy documents and other archival data.
- Education: Master within Industrial Engineering and Management.
- An eager interest in Innovation
- English, full professional proficiency
- Suitable for 1 or 2 students
