About position

Material Expert works strategically to drive changes in the material flow process ensuring an uninterrupted supply of materials to support operational process of the company. Also, plans, drives and coordinates the flow of materials according to operational schedules, contributes to projects and initiatives, influences at the site level and determines and executes to operational standards and processes.

 

Main job responsibilities

  • As part of the procurement process, it creates a technical specification, conducts an evaluation of tenders, and creates a technical opinion
  • Defines the technical specifications for the materials, equipment and services used in the implementation of the approach
  • Responsible for selecting technologies in the telecom access networks
  • Coordinates the process of introducing new equipment to customers
  • Obtains quotations on as required items from suppliers to ensure favorable quality, price and delivery terms and places orders as required; researches new products and suppliers; works closely with Operations and Strategic Sourcing and assists them in purchasing decisions and with Logistics to ensure maximization of freight savings
  • Expedites orders to ensure timely delivery of purchases by verifying initial demands and analyzing backorder reports
  • Works closely with on-site consumable supplier on implementing new initiatives, monitoring & reporting of cost savings and processing of monthly summary invoices
  • Coordinates and monitors the return of damaged goods, arranging for replacements or credits and documents all transactions
  • Researches and reconciles discrepancies noted during cycle count process.
  • Assist Sourcing department in selection of new suppliers, negotiates pricing and delivery terms, administers vendor qualification surveys
  • Initiates monthly Supplier Performance Measurement reports for key supplies and communicates details to suppliers 

 

Position Requirements

  • University degree in Engineering or equivalent
  • Three to five (3-5) years of purchasing experience in an inventory, manufacturing or service environment
  • Familiar with following group of materials: Cables, Patch cord & Pigtail, PSK equipment, Ducts, ODF, Manholes, Towers, Cu countertops and cabinets
  • Strong planning, organizational, negotiation, interpersonal, decision making, oral and written communication skills
  • Thorough knowledge of inventory control systems
  • Advanced computer skills (e.g. Excel Queries, Access Queries)

 

Croatian citizenship or work permit for Croatia is required.
