Network and Security Engineer

 

Integrates networks and network systems into the Ericsson network while encompassing Global support.

Provides complex, high-level technical support for network systems carrying out complex assignments requiring the

development of new and/or improved techniques and procedures.

 

JOB/ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

 

-Formulates, develops, and implements integrated network architectures.

-Provides project support for the senior staff in the implementation, installation, configuration, documentation and technical support of networking architecture; coordinates projects with other departments and external organizations.

-Installs, configures, and maintains network operating system and application software, as appropriate; provides on-call support for computer/network systems as required.

-Maintains a broad knowledge of current and emerging state-of-the-art computer/network systems technologies, architectures, and products.

-Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

 

CORE/CRITICAL COMPETENCIES

- 1-5 years of Demonstrated skills in WAN, Cisco, Juniper and Palo Alto.

- Cisco CCNA

- Strong Layer 2 knowledge.

- TCP/IP MPLS/BGP/OSPF/VPLS experience a plus

- Troubleshooting skills include Wireshark traces and other monitoring tools such as Nagios.

- Knowledge and understanding of a range of network equipment and networking software and hardware systems and related technologies.

- Ability to install, configures, and maintains routers, switches and/or other related hardware and software.

- Ability to analyze and assess computer/network architecture requirements and determine optimum, cost-effective solutions.

- Ability to communicate technical information to non-technical personnel.

- Computer/network systems planning skills.

- Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of group in a diverse community.

- Knowledge of computer/network systems infrastructure requirements and standards.

- Ability to plan, develop, and coordinate multiple projects.

- Participates in a rolling on-call schedule

- Requires valid Driver’s License and Passport

 

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

 

Education – Bachelor's degree in Information System\Electrical Engineering\Computer Science or equivalent experience.

Juniper or Cisco Certification
