Ericsson is pleased to announce the opening of a new design/development center in the heart of Austin, Texas.  Taking advantage of the large pool of software talent of Austin, Ericsson is creating a new SW development team here to work on 5G!   We’re looking to staff a large number of design positions in several development areas.

 

5G is coming soon, and Ericsson is the early leader in bringing it to market. Pre-commercial trials are happening now and the possibilities across industries are endless – from automotive and transports to agriculture, utilities and more.

 

Our Exciting Opportunity:

Ericsson Austin is looking for an IT DevOps Engineer to join a growing world-class semiconductor development organization and to help drive excellence in our 5G network products.

 

You will:

  • Be strongly operations focused in your first year (infrastructure management, configuration, support, & maintenance, as well as liaising with corporate IT), having potential to balance with flow development items as bandwidth allows.
  • Work closely with DevOps lead in Sweden, corporate IT teams at multiple sites, as well as internal and external tool providers to support semiconductor developers across multiple sites. 
  • Travel to Europe as needed

 

To perform the role, you must have:

  • Master’s degree in engineering (or equivalent)
  • Strong customer centricity, horizontal leadership, and IT and/or IT-liaison experience
  • 3+ years of experience enabling developers through support of engineering IT infrastructure, including:  unix/linux environments, compute and storage coordination, , working knowledge of source-code repositories (e.g. git, Perforce, SubVersion, and/or ClearCase), bug tracking tools (Jira, Bugzilla, proprietary), database installation and administration, and metrics collection / reporting
  • Demonstrated strong triage and debug capabilities
  • Advanced or expert competency in Python, Perl, and Shell scripting languages
  • Intermediate or higher competency in C/C++ programming and debug

 

You might also have:

  • LSF design, config, maintenance, trouble-shooting experience (strongly desired)
  • Tcl, Javascript programming experience / competency
  • SystemVerilog debug and development experience
  • Experience developing semiconductors or supporting semiconductor development flows
