Background

Mobile networks are used all over the world and is the corner stone for the networked society, where everything shall be connected. Microwave and MINI-LINK are vital products into this communication network. They connect the network itself, and can be seen in mobile masts, up on the roof tops, or on housing walls.

Thesis Description

This thesis aims to analyse the MINI-LINK production flow and understand in which parts an automated assembly, or test handling, procedure would be beneficial, both from cost and quality perspective.

The following steps are envisioned as part of the thesis work:

  • Identify all manual steps in the MINI-LINK production flow.
  • Analyse and propose which manual steps would benefit from being automated, both taking cost and quality into consideration.
  • Implement, fully or partly, above proposal into the production flow using an Ericsson owned  collobarative robot.

The thesis will be concluded with a result presentation for the Ericsson R&D and Supply team.

 

Qualifications

This project aims at students in electronics engineering, industrial engineering, automation engineering, mechanical engineering or similar.

Experiences within MINI-LINK are beneficial.
