Description of the Unit
Group Data and Analytics is a function with the aim to shape and execute our Analytics and AI strategy, vision and to ensure cross-functional execution for Ericsson to transform into an Intelligent enterprise. AI and Data is a key theme for Ericsson to become data driven, and we continue to build up world class competence in this area to increase performance, deliver intelligence and to ensure, secure and scalable development, deployment and continued operations of Analytics and AI solutions.
The Head of AI and Data Innovation in Group Data and Analytics will be a key member of the team driving strategy and AI innovation for enterprise & function areas. This role is expected to identify new solutions based on AI technologies and data, relevant use cases for pilots and to ensure stakeholder alignment in the change process from ideation to incubation.
The individual occupying this role will focus on creating value through new innovative solutions and will partner with business stakeholders, software vendors and IT-teams to make Ericsson more efficient and to increase operational performance thru AI and ML solutions.
The role demands considerable flexibility in quickly adapting to shifting needs, and is expected to effectively cover a range of responsibilities including, but not limited to:
Outline and drive strategy and execution for AI/ML innovation to include operational deliverables as well as set up frameworks to trigger and capture innovation within and outside the organization
Recruit, and maintain a high-quality team from external and internal sources to realize this ambition. Responsible for developing appropriate processes and road map for the team(s) including hiring plans, training requirements, staffing etc.
Lead functional and technical analysis within Ericsson organization to understand AI-driven business needs and opportunities
Engage with various business units and market functions to catalyze activities and portfolio refreshes driven by AI/ML technologies
Drive several AI and Data pilots from ideation to incubation
Drive market research into cutting-edge Data and AI technologies
Align stakeholders on the need for AI and ML
Provide thought leadership and shape the knowledge base within AI and ML
Collaborate with stakeholders at different levels in the units and champion change and transformation enablement
Collaborate within the team to ensure execution of the AI strategy towards set targets, from innovation to Operations
Lead the AI and Data innovation team (3 sites; Stockholm, Plano and Bangalore) within Group Data and Analytics
This position will be reporting to the Head of Group Data and Analytics and be part of the Leadership team in this Solution Area that is part of Group IT. This position will report into the Head of Group Data and Analytics and be part of the unit’s leadership team, supporting, driving and leading strategic initiatives towards achieving the goals of the unit. As the head of one of the most important components of this unit, this role has general and broad senior leadership scope with critical strategic deliverables and execution focus. This individual will also serve as a key member of the unit’s Think Tank, formulating its vision, mission, goals and driving day-to-day activities to realize them.
To make decisions for effectively carrying out the above-mentioned responsibilities, seeking the approval of the Leadership Team or Stakeholders from Business/Market Areas as may be required.
Organizes organization wide and cross business unit programs.
The position is to be held in Sweden (Kista) to be close to the team and stakeholders.

Good interpersonal and communication skills
Strong ability to present with confidence in front of an audience
Master’s or higher degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or related disciplines
Deep/broad knowledge of machine learning, statistics, optimization, or related field
A genuine interest in new and applied technology and software engineering coupled with a high degree of business understanding
15+ years leading technology and cross geographical teams
Sound technical knowledge across areas and excellent understanding of business issues. Ability to create plans to align technical issues with business strategy.
Proven ability to act at both the strategic and operational levels.
Strong partnering skills, with the ability to work across all levels of the organization and across multiple countries, effectively collaborating with multiple stakeholders
Excellent people management skills to attract motivate and retain talent.
