  1. Job Description

 

 

This position is part of the IP/MPLS solutions team, within IP routing unit as part of Customer engineering. This team is responsible for end-to-end solution implementation of IP/MPLS transport network for multiple services.

  1. Roles and Responsibilities

 

Should have understanding about systems and services monitoring.

Alarm handling.

 

Responsible for handling of Network Trouble Tickets with responsibility for time and quality

Take responsibility that SLA/KPI objectives are being meet according to defined levels

 

Analyse, isolate and solve complex fault issues as well as contribute them to corrective actions. More complex issues after preliminary recognition send to Back Office engineers. Amount of TTs send to BO should not exceed 20 %.

 

Creation of end-end IP/MPLS solutions for transport of multiple services for mobile and fixed line, consumer and internet service providers, using the required mix of Alcatel-Lucent products as required.

 

 

Single point of contact and complete ownership of the solution including design/ testing/migrations as required for the entire life-cycle of the customer ownership with Alcatel-Lucent.

 

Provide customization to the deployed solution, as required to support new requirements from operators on continual basis.

 

Creating High level design, low level design, configuration & migrations MOPs

 

Creating audit requirements and conducting network audit as required.

 

Technical Support to cross functional teams as required.

Carry out presentations and participate in technical discussions with customers as required.

 

Support trials/ new product introductions in the customer network by supporting and conducting POCs.

      1. Technical competencies
  1. Must be able to independently create end-to-end solution, design IP/MPLS transport networks for multiple different services.
  2. Clear concept and strong technical domain knowledge in routing and switching.
  3. Good knowledge and experience of using IP/MPLS Protocols such as BGP, OSPF,ISIS,VRRP,LDP,RSVP-TE. Design and implementation Knowledge on L2  & L3 services using – VPLS / HVPLS / MP-BGP
  4. Experience in troubleshooting Large L2 and L3 based VPNs over IP/MPLS networks
  5. Internetworking troubleshooting experience. Good analytical skills and ability to debug network issues.
  6. Ability to convert customer requirements into a technical solution.
  7. Routing/ switching/ security Architecture & Technology Knowledge of products from leading IP/MPLS vendors (Cisco/Juniper/Alcatel-Lucent/Huawei)
  8. Industry technical certifications desirable.

Technical college or University degree

7 Yrs - 9 Yrs of experience in Core Networking

CCNA, CCNP, CCIE or JNCIA Certification preffered

ITILv3 Foundation Certification Preffered
