Experienced Researcher in research area Network, Architectures and Protocols
We are seeking an experienced researcher to contribute to research activities we have underway in mobile communication networks. Our ambition is to develop and drive best-in-class procedures, protocols and architecture for current and future mobile systems spanning the radio, core, and transport networks. We focus on network control, orchestration and cloud-native network functions, including AI-driven automation of mobile network functions and resources. We not only aim to further increase the network performance we experience today with our smartphones and tablets, but also improving the networks’ support for the digital transformation of industries and societies. As one of our researchers, you should have demonstrated track record of good knowledge on mobile communication networks and software technologies with applications in network domains, preferably also applying Machine Learning or AI techniques to solve problems. You should be a good and innovative team player, capable of working with peers in several countries. You should also demonstrate integrity in all situations and seek to actively coach and empower others by sharing knowledge and best practices.
You will become a member of Ericsson Research (ER), the research organization within Ericsson. We are a global organization present in ten countries with a central site in Stockholm (Kista). This requested job position is physically placed in Indaiatuba, São Paulo, Brazil.
We are looking for newly graduated or about to graduate PhD, or MSc concluded with industry experience in the field of Engineering, Physics, Computer Science or similar technical field.
Here’s what we are looking for in a successful candidate:
- You are a self-starter individual who takes initiative and acts as a team player;
- Passion for demonstrating research using open source and software engineering techniques;
- Interested in working with multi-national teams and projects in cloud and network orchestration;
- You have good communication skills and find it easy to express and demonstrate your findings and knowledge to others (orally and in writing);
- Ability to develop novel and innovative ideas, generate patents, publish results at conferences and in journals;
- Prototyping and communicating your work to the Ericsson business units, global customers, standardization groups, and at technical conferences;
- You are analytical, creative, and have strong personal drive and commitment;
- Fluency in English is mandatory;
- Fluency in Spanish and Portuguese is a plus.
Experience in one or more of the following topics is expected:
- Network control and management;
- Network orchestration and automation;
- Machine learning, AI and network automation;
- IP and transport networks;
- Software-defined networking (SDN);
- Network functions virtualization (NFV);
- Fixed and mobile telecom architectures;
