Job Summary
Product Development Unit Transport (PDU TP) as part of Business Unit Networks at Lindholmen is now looking for an IP and Network Functions Architect, with focus on transport networks for mobile services. 


PDU TP develops transport equipment from antenna site to mobile packet core gateway and are vital pieces for building and serving billions of mobile service users around the world. The network nodes that we develop includes cell site routers, pre-aggregation and aggregation routers, Fronthaul transmission, and an extensive range of microwave links. We also have collaboration with partners requiring us to take a total ownership of end-to end IP network solutions. 

 

The architect position has the following general responsibilities within area of IP and networking technologies: 
•    Define network solutions and communicate with development teams and with external communications
•    Drive Technology Leadership - Align and drive technology strategies including standardization
•    Drive Technology Innovation - Provide in-depth technical solutions for complex and/or complicated 

The Systems section at PDU TP consists of professionals with long design experience and domain specialist competence.

 

Responsibilities & Tasks
The IP and network functions architect will be the main responsible for defining IP and networking solutions. The role will interface program development steering roles, development teams and external parties within the area. You will make sure that relevant work packages and internal studies are started to support the future product vision.

 

As IP and network functions architect you will be leading a virtual competence team across the PDU TP organization, where you jointly plan the work and share tasks and knowledge. 

 

You will be working in close cooperation with Product Owners, System Architects, and Specialist from our partners to manage customer requirements. You will engage in customer dialogs on network topologies, on technology choices, performance and service requirements and you will explain design choices and decisions we as a vendor have made. You will lead the emerging technologies analysis in the area to feed the technology leadership ambitions that we have as an organization.

Main responsibilities are:
•    Definition of end to end network architecture including IP, MPLS and Segment Routing, focused but not limited to Mobile transport networks.
•    Description of network architecture, publication, presentation, argumentation for solutions, internally and externally with industry and customer partners.
•    Definition of new packet functionality and interaction in standardization bodies
•    Performance & Scalability requirements in network solutions
•    Functionality contributions to shared platform independent IPOS SW system
•    End-to-end network scenario definition for proper interoperability 
•    Automation, zero tough and orchestration functionality of packet networks
•    IPR, Standardization and Innovation
•    Prototype implementation
 

Position Qualifications
To succeed in this position, you need to have the following qualifications and skills:
•    Minimum 10 years of experience in IP Network design and/or IP Network technology
•    Proven experience as a technical leader within IP and Networking
•    Very strong knowledge of IP, MPLS, Segment Routing packet technologies
•    Very strong analytical and logical skill
•    Strong ability to cooperate with peers
•    Enjoy sharing your knowledge and skills
•    Strong soft skills for negotiation, influencing and decision making

 

You should have a technical background of:
•    Master of Science or Ph.D Degree from Technical University
•    IP network design experience from Network owner/operator or equivalent
•    Configuration experience of IP, MPLS, SR,  Ethernet networks
•    Preferably also Development experience of IP, MPLS, SR, Ethernet systems
