Regional Travel Manager - Middle East and Africa

Job Summary:


We are now looking for a Regional Travel Manager to be responsible for travel in the Middle East and Africa region.

You will be working in an experienced global Travel Management team responsible for Ericsson’s global travel program.

Travel Management Is an integrated part of Travel and Expense Management function organized within Group Function Finance, that consists of: Travel Management, T&E Business Excellence, and T&E Audit.




  • You will be responsible for strategy and behavior for travel in Middle East and Africa region

  • Manage the operational relationship with all travel vendors, e.g. travel agency, on-line booking tools, airline, car, hotel, and conferences

  • Work closely with travel agency to ensure all Ericsson Travel Policies and Directives are followed

  • Participate in regularly recurring governance meetings with travel agency to address operational issues and track KPI’s

  • Analyze data from travel suppliers to identify trends and ensure accuracy

  • Drive/support travel benchmark activities with peer companies and internally

  • Identify demand drivers and help reduce overall travel spend

  • Assess traveler satisfaction levels and if required develop plans for improvement

  • Improve online booking adoption in the geographical region

  • Provide internal travel communications via newsletters, trainings, admin emails, etc – in cooperation with Internal Communications

  • Assist employees with customer service issues

  • Be main liaison for entities/companies that are new to Ericsson (e.g. mergers, acquisitions) to provide a smooth transition and support

  • Increase communication levels outside home country with travel arrangers and establish a network within the geographical region

  • Identify, create and streamline travel process efficiencies. Partner with other departments such as Risk Management, Security, HR, etc. on related aspects of travel policies, procedures and processes.

  • Owning T&E regional steering documents for the geographical area

  • Act as a liaison for the rest of the T&E Management organization in the geographical region

  • (Where applicable) Work closely with Local Admin Services (LAS) to support with Citi card monthly invoice reconciliation

  • Work closely with Travel Sourcing to add supplier contracts, support during RFP activities and provide feedback on contracted suppliers


Key Qualifications:


  • Previous experience as travel manager.

  • Domain experience: Travel industry, good geographical/cultural knowledge in the travel area

  • Good language skills in English

  • Other locations in the region can be considered.

  • The placement of position is NOT only for the country selections in the form.
    We are interested for applicants / placement in the ENTIRE REGION of Middle East and Africa (MMEA) rather than specific countries.
