Job Summary:

We are now looking for a Second Level Operations Specialist that will be responsible for the coordination, management, execution and reactive maintenance activities that require a higher level of support than offered by the 1st level Operations. This person shall ensure that the services provided to customers are continuously available and performing to Service Level Agreement (SLA) performance levels.

Responsibilities:

  • Good hands on experience on Solaris System administration and Linux administration and trouble shooting.
  • server migration from old hardware to new hardware  with Ldoms: creation, installing OS on ldom, Adding disk to ldom.
  • Veritas Cluster and Sun Cluster troubleshooting
  • Building physical and virtual servers, creating file systems, and growing file systems online using logical volume managers ( LVM) on physical an virtual servers
  • To carry out the scheduled activities like Patch management, Log file rotation.
  • Installing Packages, Patches, and Firmware upgrades in SUN servers and Patching Solaris10 & 11 envm.
  • Virtual machine management like configuration, migration ,VM snapshots
  • Physical and virtual Server trouble shooting and performance analysis
  • Provide the root cause analysis on the major incidents/problems
  • Knowledge on scheduling backups & recovery
  • Good to have but not mandatory :
  • XEN/KVM Administration and troubleshooting
