Job Description –Sr. Engineer- CORE (SRF)

Job Details

Function: SRF – CORE

Position: Sr. Engineer SRF

Job Stage:5

Location: [Noida (Uttar Pradesh), India]

Working Hours: 8 to 5 – Night Shifts included

Role Definition

The position responsible will be required:

To ensure configuration activities on Core Nodes (MSOFTX3000 (NFV/FUSION/ATCA/CPCI) , UMG8900 ,SBC-SE2900)


Key Responsibilities

The position responsible will be required:

1) To ensure configuration on various CORE Nodes (MSOFTX/UMG/SBC )

2) To ensure MSTOP Processes are followed in the Workplace

3) To ensure Password policies, security policies and audits are properly & periodically followed.

4) To contribute in the creation and improvements to procedures and routines within the department / group.




Candidate Prerequisites

Qualifications: [Degree in Electronics and Communication Engineering]                               Total Experience:  5-8 years in Telecom Industry

Relevant Experience: 5-8 yrs  (relevant to GSM network)

Technical and/or functional skills: [Network Nodes/GSM/SS7/IMS]

The primary purpose is to take full responsibility of Configuration activities related to CORE Network.

The position responsible will be required:

1. To ensure configuration Activities on various CORE nodes.

2. To work well within predefined system support guidelines and ground rules.

3. To participate in internal technical discussions in view to improve overall network performance and make recommendations wherever possible.

4. To ensure correct working methodology, Best Practices and Continuous improvements in Ways of Working for efficiency improvements and betterment in deliveries.

5. Execute system configuration related changes as per given access rights.

6. To ensure MSTOP Processes are followed in the Workplace

7. To ensure Password policies and other security policies are properly followed

Language skills: languages other than English and local/ Indian

Values and behaviors: Pro-active and able to work under pressure


B.E / B.Tech. in Electronics & Communications with at least 5-8 years of Experience in  CORE Domain.

Experience in handling Huawei Networks Preferred.

Ericsson and Nokia Core Node handling will be additional advantage.

The SRF Sr. Engineer reports to CA Manager.


The SRF Specialist/Sr. Engineer/Engineer is responsible for specific systems by performing the following activities:

Administrating CORE Network and Support Systems

Configuration Changes on Core Nodes

B Number/VAS Codes/PRI Configuration, GT/GTRC Configuration, Route Changes etc.

POI /Signaling Creation/Shifting, Augmentation, De augmentation etc in MSS/GMSC and MGW

BSC/RNC Migration, New Node Integration , SDP Migration.

MGCF/BGCF related configurations

E2E B number definition flow

Configuration related to HLR/HSS Nodes

Coordination with Planning/ Customer/Back office /Project etc

Interface with Customer, 3PP and Ericsson Departments

Excellent knowledge of call control, signaling, digit analysis.

 Functional Skills

The following work position / area/ specific functional skills are typically applicable to the Sr. Engineer-SRF CORE functional role.

Good Technical Knowledge of the specific CORE nodes viz. MSC/MGW/HLR for Mobile Communication specially on Huawei vendor like MSOFTX/UMG/SBC/NFV

Understanding of all Processes, routines activities and stakeholder management.

Technical Competence:

Specialist Expertise on GSM Protocols (i.e. SS7, ISUP, BICC, SIGTRAN, INAP, CAP, TCAP, MAP, SCCP, Diameter)

Strong Telecom fundamentals and understanding of Mobile Core networks (CS/PS);

Excellent knowledge of call control, signaling, digit analysis;

Strong Technical competence on Huawei Core nodes MSOFTX3000 (NFV/ATCA/FUSION) CPCI ,UMG8900,SBS-SE2900

Hands on Ericsson AXE 810, APZ 212 40, APZ 212 50, APZ 212 60, APZ 214 01/03, APG 40 C/2, APG 40 C/4, APG 43.Ericsson MGW , HLR and HSS Nodes

Hands on experience on Huawei MSOFTX 3000, UMG8900, NE40E, ATCA, CSC3300, HSS9820, MRP6600, UGC3200.

• GSM, WCDMA with MNP call flows.

• Network Architecture and its subparts.

• Performance & Characteristics of CORE Network Nodes.
