Job Description –Senior Engineer- CORE (SRF)

Function: SRF – CORE

Position: Senior Engineer SRF

Job Stage:5

Location: Noida

Working Hours: 24X7 (Primarily Night Shifts )

Candidate Prerequisites

Qualifications: Degree in Electronics and Communication Engineering                                Total Experience:  5-8 years in Telecom Industry

Relevant Experience: 5-8 yrs (relevant to GSM/WCDMA/LTE/IMS network)

Technical and/or functional skills: Network Nodes/GSM/SS7/ DIAMETER/ IPv4/ SIGTRAN

The primary purpose is to take full responsibility of Configuration activities related to CS- CORE (STP/ DRA) Network.

Authority

The SRF Engineer reports to CA Manager.

Activities

The SRF Engineer is responsible for performing various configuration changes in CORE nodes specially STP/ DRA. The changes include:

  1. DRA routing table definitions.
  2. Diameter Interfaces integration on DRA.
  3. NPDB configurations (IMSI, DN, SPID).
  4. SCCP related Configuration.
  5. Sigtran / ATM/ TDM (LSL, HSL) configuration.
  6. MTP Configuration Changes.
  7. SCCP/ MTP traffic migrations.
  8. New Node Integration.
  9. GSM MAP Screening and TCAP based screening configs.
  10. Hardware additions, software updates.
  11. Feature / Service enabling.
  12. Excellent knowledge of call flows, SCCP processing, MTP routing, measurement reports, NPDB dipping.
  13. Coordination with Planning/ Customer/Back office /Project etc.
  14. Interface with Customer, 3PP and Ericsson Departments
  15. Adherence to Processes
     Functional Skills
    The following work position / area/ specific functional skills are typically applicable to the Engineer-SRF CORE functional role.
    Good Technical Knowledge of the specific CORE nodes specially ORACLE and HUAWEI STP/ NPDB/ DRA.
    Understanding of all Processes, routines activities and stakeholder management.
    Technical Competence:
  1. Expertise on GSM Protocols (i.e. SS7, ISUP, BICC, SIGTRAN, INAP, CAP, TCAP, MAP, SCCP, Diameter, CS1+)
  2. Knowledge of Diameter protocols (S6a, S6d, S13, SWx, Gx, Gy and other interface types).
  3. Strong Technical competence on Huawei STS (STP and DRA) and PGW.
  4. Strong Technical competence on ORACLE Eagle 5 STP and ORACLE NPDB.
  5. Experience on Ericsson Core nodes will be an added advantage.
  6. GSM, WCDMA with MNP call flows.
  7. Network Architecture and its subparts.
  8. Performance & Characteristics of CORE Network Nodes.
  9. Network Architecture and its subparts.
