Radio functional systemization engineer

Job Description

Date: May 24, 2019

Job summary

Radio is a key product area for Ericsson.

In Radio Systems, we cover all product development phases: early conceptual studies for new products or features, feasibility for products and features ordered by Product Management, actual product development support and, on need basis, customer troubleshooting.

In Radio, a function is realized in HW and SW, therefore both HW and SW knowledge is important. You can put your emphasis on either one, but the dual understanding is crucial.

Understanding and experience in embedded systems is required. Digital signal processing and radio frequency performance knowledge is a plus. Our functions directly impact the performance of the radio. Our scope spans from O&M and communication with the digital unit, to the antenna system on black-box level, as well as digging into the HW control systems, HW near SW and compensation algorithms. We define the functional behavior of the radios, both as a node in ERS (Ericsson Radio System) and radio internally. Within our unit we are often specialists in a technical area. To solve complex tasks, we work in teams where different specialties are needed. We work closely with HW, SW and different levels of test within the whole PDU Radio and towards other PDUs.

In general, the job includes requirement analysis, system design, architecture design, hardware design, software design, integration, verification and product documentation. Interest in conceptual work and systemization is a must, as well as the drive to actively interact with other PDUs to secure a complete and sound radio solution systemization.
