Job Summary

The Agile Product Owner represents all the product stakeholders as a single voice to the development team: share the product vision with the development team and conveying it in the team backlog, with the aim of maximizing the value of budget invested in product development, while keeping a solid understanding of business value, strategy, and competition.

Responsibilities & Tasks

  • Represents product management towards the cross-functional team (XFT henceforth)
    • understands customers’ expectations and clarify requirements from a business point of view
    • clarifies priorities on requirements on all levels
    • challenges product management on more granular minimum viable product enabling earlier partial deliveries
  • Represents the voice of the customer ("Customer Proxy")
  • Ensures the business value, and that the team is fully aware of it 
  • Continuously ensures the team works with the "right things" from a business perspective
  • Challenges the team to identify new User stories (when learning more about the feature) and non-feature related User stories, e.g. refactoring's
  • Owns the XFT backlog consisting of User Stories
  • Makes sure that acceptance criteria are known and committed by the team
  • Validates the deliveries from the team in terms of quality and content 

Position Qualifications:

Core Competencies

  • Excellent domain knowledge in the area applicable to the product of responsibility
  • Considerable knowledge about agile/scrum methodology and product owner functions
  • Considerable knowledge of mobile networks
  • Considerable knowledge sharing & collaboration skills
  • Excellent communication skills (influence & negotiation)
  • Considerable leadership & teamwork competence
  • Fluent in English at conversational and technical level
  • Fundamental knowledge on Bid Data stack, docker, microservices, kubernetes, machine learning, data science
  • Fundamental understanding about market situation & driving forces in: mobile operators, OTTs, mobile network infrastructure suppliers, OSS/BSS vendors

Minimum Qualification and Experience Requirements

BSc level in a technical discipline or the equivalent level of knowledge English Skills

Additional Requirements, Physical Demands, Region/Local Specifications

Not strictly required but appreciated:

  • SW development knowledge in python, java, R, scala
  • Fundamental knowledge in CDQ tools such as Puppet / Jenkins / Maven, SVN, GIT, JIRA
  • Design & Optimization experience working for and operator or service provider

Preferred Qualification and Experience Requirements

  •  3+ year experience in Product Owner position
