Researcher - Network Performance Simulations
We are a system design team located in Lund, Sweden that work on concepts and network architecture for the next generations cellular systems. If you are interested in working on 5G technology with a horizon of 2-5 years prior to commercial products and enjoy the possibility to participate in creating the network vision, this may be the opportunity for you.
We are looking for a Radio Access System Designer to do conceptual design and network simulation work. We usually conduct this as scenario studies, typically based on network simulations.
Our focus is on concepts and visions for future cellular networks, including traffic, management and deployment aspects. The study results are used for strategic product decisions as well as providing guidelines and advice in direct and indirect communication with our customers. A majority of the work is organized in Technical Analysis teams in which continuous improvement, innovation and knowledge sharing is part of the daily work.
We are primarily looking for experienced System Designers, but you could also be a SW or HW developer with a strong desire for a holistic perspective and eager to shift into a full radio access network focus. Regardless of background, ability for “outside-the-box” thinking is expected. We are eager to get applicants from diverse backgrounds, including culture, age and gender.
Your responsibilities will include the development of new concepts, solutions and algorithms. The work will include simulation tasks from which you will analyze the result and summarize it in written reports, typically as a Word document and/or a presentation. Your results will be presented to interest groups inside Ericsson and sometimes also to external parties, such as customers and universities. Protection of your work with Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) shall be done as required.
You should have a M.Sc. or equivalent degree, a Ph.D. or Licentiate is an extra merit. We believe that you have strong analytical skills and are curious to explore new technology that you apply to your job. Good communication skills in written and spoken English and ability to formulate problems and solutions will contribute to good cooperation within your work team. You also have a good understanding of wireless communication and the technologies applied there. You enjoy interaction with others and apply a balanced mix of give and take. This helps you build a good contact network, both inside Ericsson and externally.
The selection and interview process is ongoing. Therefore, send in your application as soon as possible through this link:
