Group IT within Ericsson is transforming in order to be the true technology partner for Ericsson’s accelerated Digital Transformation journey. The unit is set up up to build the digital foundation of Ericsson in the areas of Enterprise Systems, Automation & Analytics, IT Cloud Services and Digital workspace, and at the same time be an integrated part of the Ericsson’s digital workstreams across the company. The structure is also set-up to ensure an easy interface for the Ericsson stakeholders with clear accountability and mandate to ensure speed in delivering value. In Group IT we are now hiring a leader for our Global Competence Centers unit, which is responsible for building up in-house digital competence and run the IT operation.

Description:
As Head of Global Competence Centers (GCC), you report to the Ericsson CIO and is a member of the IT Leadership Team.  The role has overall responsibility of building up in-house SW development and Infrastructure competences and running the IT operations including operation of infrastructure service like Ericsson Corporate Network and Identity & Access Management to application operation of traditional applications but also new automation solutions.

The main responsibilities include:
  • Development of competence within the infrastructure and applications (including automation developers) domains
  • Delivery of infrastructure operations and application operations with the right quality and cost structure
  • Build-up of best-in-class IT operations using digital technologies

The GCC role is leading a team of 700+ employees and exists in three countries India, Rumania and Sweden of which India is the largest location. The role is also “site” responsible for Group IT’s all business in India which consists of more than 900 employees in 4 locations.

The focus of the role the next 12-18 months will be:
› Build-up of a Swedish GCC hub for digital technologies and design thinking methodology.
› Drive automation across all operations
› Drive up-skilling of team from traditional IT technologies to digital technologies like automation, AI, blockchain, microservices and cloud.
› Continue to drive quality and cost efficiency in the operation.
› Start implementing Agile way-of-working across GCC.
 
Competence:
• Great team player in order to support the major transformation the IT Leadership team will be responsible for.
• Proven leadership experience managing cross-country units.
• Ability to act proactive, being a change leader, Result-oriented
• Track record of delivering quick wins and long-term improvements
• Excellent interpersonal skills and strong communication capabilities.
• Understanding of the technology shift driving the digital transformation
 
Education:
• University degree
