Master thesis: Optimizing GPU resource utelization
We are looking for a MSc Thesis student who is interested in computer hardware and GPU acceleration. The main objectives for the work are:
Research state of the art mechanisms and applications for GPU acceleration
Explore and characterize new application domains and workloads for GPU acceleration
Evaluate GPU vs traditional CPU performance and energy efficiency for new application areas
Build a test framework/emulator where potential gains of new application domains can be quantified and evaluated.
You have studied computer science and data communication or similar
Knowledge of cloud computing and its infrastructure components, containers etc. and GPU acceleration in particular (CUDA, Kubernetes etc.).
Knowledge of processor/computer architecture
You have completed the courses for your degree and are ready to start your MSc thesis
Good programming skills, preferably C and Python
Strong analytical skills and ability to acquire new knowledge and apply it in the job
Good communication skills in written and spoken English
Ability to formulate problems and solve them independently
Creativity and ability to work independently
Good presentation & communication skills
