Who we are

For 140 years, our ideas, technology and people have created monumental impact: real turning points that have transformed lives, industries and society as a whole - all grounded in our belief that communication is a basic human need. Today, we envision a world where anything that benefits from a connection will be connected – a future we call the Networked Society.

To be a driver of global transformation is in our DNA and we use innovation to empower people, business and society. Through our technological leadership, global presence and the empowerment we provide to our employees, we offer enormous opportunities to change peoples’ lives and the world we live in.

In Ericsson's R&D center in Finland we have Connectivity, Cloud, IoT and Security Research groups which belong to Ericsson Research with the mission to develop solutions, standards and innovations to fulfill Ericsson’s vision of the Networked Society. These research groups are part of the NomadicLab research department located in Jorvas, Kirkkonummi.

The greatest changes are yet to come. Together, we innovate to create these future turning points, driving extraordinary impact in the Networked Society.

Come and discover what makes You + Ericsson a powerful combination!

What we offer You

We offer internship/trainee positions in our research department in which students get the opportunity to participate and get insight into our daily work. Joining us as an intern / master thesis writer means a unique opportunity to put your theoretical knowledge into practice. Moreover you will be exposed to a global organization that develops cutting edge technology that truly changes the world.

We believe that an internship should give you a more in-depth knowledge about our organization via presentations and other fun activities. During your internship, you will work on challenging tasks that are based on real business needs, relevant to your skill sets, and where you will be able to contribute to the Network Society. Furthermore, you will get the chance to get to know other interns and create your own network within Ericsson.

What we look for

We are looking for students that are curious about the ICT industry and are interested in research. Successful applicants are driven, open minded and have the ability to work well independently as well as together with others. Students from their first three years of studies from ICT related programs such as computer science, IT engineering, applied physics or electro engineering will have an advantage. Being the fifth largest software company in the world also means that passionate programmers are highly attractive to us.

We offer intern positions within the following research areas:

  • Internet of Things
  • Cloud technologies
  • Security

If you have certain fields of interest, please state them in your application together with a short explanation of why you want to work with them. We will do our best to match you with the right assignment depending on your interests and qualifications. We prefer that you collect your CV, current grades and Cover letter written in English into one document and clearly define your technical knowledge and interest. Good communication skills in English is a must.
