Background

Radio base stations require very precise installation instructions for the field engineers handling installation. In case of deviations from expected operation the field engineers follow step by step instructions for how to collect the needed information to file a report to enable investigation of the issue.

 

We would like to investigate how an augmented reality application can streamline the work and improve the quality of the result.

 

Objective
Investigate how to utilize location based information overlay and augmented reality to replace the need of manuals when installing and maintaining radio base stations.

 

Investigate how to improve information gathering when creating error reports from the field using an augmented reality application.

 

Implement a prototype based on the findings and test it in the field.

 

Qualifications
Experience building augmented reality applications

Programming experience

Theoretical understanding of Wireless Information Processing

Theoretical understandong of Mobile Communication, LTE and NR
