Master Thesis - Supply Chain Management: Inbound Supply
We are now offering two Master thesis student positions for Inbound Supply Managment at Ericsson, starting in January. The department secures short- and long-term material availability in the inbound supply chains between external suppliers, Ericsson Supply Sites and Contract Manufacturing Sites (EMS), ensuring stakeholder fulfilment with R&D, Production Management and Sourcing.
The master thesis will be conducted in Inbound Supply which is part of Group function Supply. Inbound Supply is responsible for securing material deliveries and inbound supply chain flexibility for Ericsson’s hardware production globally.
5G technology is on its way to release and a research question that arises in this situation is how to best secure flexibility in an environment with low volume and high product mix requirement. The purpose of the thesis is to assess the current approach used, review the methods in the literature, best in class industries in similar situation and to propose how flexibility shall be secured.
In this thesis period, you will research through academic literature and research, industry business cases, get an in-depth real-life view of the Ericsson processes and analyze the current operational activities and ways of working. You will then apply this to your thesis with emphasis on optimization and flexibility in order to present high quality solutions and advice to the managment.
- Education: Final year student of master studies: Supply Chain, Industrial engineering, Industrial management or equivalent
- Experience: Working experience within supply chain is valuable but not necessary
- Domain knowledge: Overall supply chain process, Supply chain life cycle managment, market and industry trends, finance
