Job Summary 

The Communications Specialist is responsible for supporting internal and external communications activities for North America. The primary focus of this role is the effective use of communications to drive employee engagement in support of Ericsson’s strategy, culturebrand and other internal initiatives. The position also will support the creation of content for social media channels and media relations. 

 

The right candidate will be a strong writer and proofreader with the ability to work on multiple projects with varying deadlinesProjects will include writing articles and press materials, covering events, producing newslettersdeveloping digital signage, coordinating meetings/events, monitoring social media platforms and supporting other internal and external projects as needed. 

 

You will be a part of the Market Area North America Marketing & Communications team and will report to the Head of Internal Communications. 

 

You will have the opportunity to: 

  • Contribute to and execute the region’s strategic internal and external communications plans 

  • Draft communications that clearly and concisely articulate the intended objectives and calls to action 

  • Ensure all communications are consistent with the company’s brand and vision 

  • Write news stories and create digital content 

  • Take pictures at events for internal and social media use 

  • Compile and edit newsletters targeted to specific audiences  

  • Support events – internal meetings, trade shows, philanthropic activities – through communications tactics 

  • Support webcasts and video shoots 

  • Design basic graphics and email layouts in alignment with Ericsson’s brand 

  • Act as the voice of internal communications in our internal social media platform – Yammer – helping to foster conversations and share important news 

  • Work collaboratively with local and global Marketing & Communications in support of company-wide programs and initiatives 

 

The right candidate will have: 

  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Journalism, Marketing, Public Relations, Creative Writing, or related field 

  • Two or more years of experience in the communications field 

  • Experience in the ICT industry is desirable 

  • Exceptional writing, editing, proofreading and oral presentation skills 

  • Creative thinker with extreme attention to detail 

  • Comfortable working in a diverse environment 

  • Ability to manage multiple projects and work within deadlines 

  • Highly-proficient in PowerPoint and Word 

  • Experience driving information sharing in digital channels, including social media 

  • Knowledge in online publishing tools 

  • Ability to initiate and manage projects strategically as well as operationally 

  • Proficiency in the Adobe creative suite (Photoshop, Dreamweaver, InDesign, Premiere, etc.) preferred 

 

Position is located in Plano, TX.  Local candidates preferred as there is no relocation offered for this position.
