As a master thesis worker, you will be a part of the Radio Link hardware product development team focusing on developing and maintaining Ericsson’s cutting-edge microwave transport products. Master Thesis Project Description
The objective of the Master thesis project is to identify requirements and define way-of-working when it comes to electrical and thermal circuit simulations for mm wave products in order to predict circuit hotspots and degradation at the event of electric surge. The thesis work is currently seen to include:
- Definition and simulation of current and voltage surge cases such as lightning and other events causing electrical and thermal spikes on PCB.
- Design of reference circuits on which elaborated simulation process(es) will be tested and evaluated.
- Elaboration of simulation process is to be tested and verified in laboratory environment on defined reference circuits.
Competencies and Qualifications
Core competences for a Master Thesis worker:
- Studying Master of Science in Electrical Engineering, Engineering Physics or similar
- Experience in electronics hardware design (analog and/or digital) is seen as a merit
- Curious and solution-oriented personality
- Good communications skills (English)
- All master program courses are preferably finished before start of thesis work
- The thesis can be done single-handed or in pairs
- The work should be done in close cooperation with Ericsson AB and follow applicable company standards
The candidate(s) will gain knowledge regarding hardware design requirements for microwave radio links. A deep knowledge within the area of simulation and PCB design principles will be obtained as well as an introduction to working in an agile multicultural environment.
