The domain of User Experience (UX) is about creating useful and usable user experiences. To do this several activities are necessary. Activities such as: user research, user analysis, sketching, different levels of prototyping, interaction design, visual design, user testing and a tight collaboration with software development teams and stakeholders.


As standards and products grow increasingly complex it becomes more and more important to create a clear, intuitive and effective user interface. Business Unit Networks (BNEW) develops a number of software’s and the usability and user experience are competitive advantages we want to utilize.


We are looking for an experienced, talented and passionate Principal UX Designer to join our team. As Principal UX Designer you act as an authority in the UX area and is the driving force in setting the strategies for the domain. You are the thought leader of the domain and its technical spokesperson within Business Unit Networks (BNEW).


Who are you?

You have 8+ years of experience of Web, desktop and mobile applications including proven experience of the total UX process. You are self-motivated, pro-active and willing to be challenged by management, experts, development teams and customers, as well as work thoughtfully in building bridges between competences and organizations. You have experience of implementing a Customer Centric mindset in a large organization.

The position is placed in Kista (Stockholm), Sweden. You will report to the Head of Industrial Design & Usability.


The position holder has the responsibility to:

  • Drive strategic design projects in the UX area.
  • Provide input on the backlog for strategic/innovative design projects for UX.
  • Drive the development of processes and tools to secure the quality of UX deliveries.
  • Drive and update the development roadmap for the UX domain at BNEW in areas such as user research, brand compliance, interaction patterns and more.
  • Work in projects together with the rest of the DU SW community, coaching the teams to achieve premium deliveries from a UX perspective.
  • Drive competence development in UX for BNEW SW development organizations.
  • Be the speaking partner (person to turn to) in how to build and work in the UX domain going forward.
  • Collaborate with other UX teams at Ericsson globally.
  • Coaching and mentoring the UX community.
