Job Title: Chief Digital Officer (CDO) for the Internet of Things (IoT), Market Area North America


Our Opportunity:

The Chief Digital Officer (CDO) will lead the IoT Center of Excellence and work with Industrial Customers, Web-players, and Telco Operators to CO-INNOVATE IoT Solutions in areas such as Asset Tracking, Condition Monitoring, Smart Manufacturing, Connected Vehicles.  The CDO will work with a set of IoT solution architects, software developers, User Interface developers, and business model developers to rapidly prototype solutions with the partners and test out new business models.


You have:

  • Ability to review 100s of potential IoT solution scenarios and prioritize what needs to be built
  • Ability to stay focused on selective IoT use cases, and show early successes, and scale up over time
  • The experience to design“As a Service”and“Outcome based”business models and convince Ericsson leaders and partners and customers about why they should pick one model over others.
  • The ability to be“hands-on”in the  development of IoT solutions and testing out solutions with customers. 
  • Established connections within the IoT ecosystem of larger companies and startups.
  • Leadership and management experience of teams of 20-100 people
  • Strategic mind, with ability to span into tactical as needed


You might also have:

  • Previous involvement with Startup(s) and Corporate Ventures
  • Experience defining New Business Models
  • Design Thinking knowledge and Rapid Prototyping experience
  • 10+ years of experience in technology leadership
    • BS degree from an accredited university

Travel is required: 30 - 50%
