Position Summary

You will be creating a favourable environment for Ericsson’s and our customers’ success through leadership and trusted advice that proactively influences governments, regulators and industry organisations.


Responsibilities & Tasks:

  • As a part of the leadership team for Ericsson you will shape the ANZA strategy with regards to government policy. Support management in their interaction with decision makers on policy and regulatory topics

  • Develop a strategic plan to derive value from political relationships, including by showcasing Ericsson’s work to political stakeholders in domains that build brand and reputation.

  • Influence ICT policies, legislations and regulations which affect business, operating and technical conditions of Ericsson and our customers:

  • Internet Policy and governance and cyber security;

    • radio spectrum allocations, assignments, licensing and licensing principles;

    • media and content regulation;

    • network regulations;

    • product regulations, approval regimes, certification processes, installation and operating regulations;

    • market access issues including trade policy, legislation and regulation

  • Protect Ericsson’s reputation in political engagements.

  • Consistently liaise with and be the representative of Ericsson towards the government.
  • Manage interactions with politicians and public policy leaders by assisting Ericsson to access ministers, shadow ministers, other parliamentarians.

  • Remain abreast on future policy direction, to provide advice on political threats and opportunities to the Senior Leadership Team.

  • Cooperate with and advise governments, politicians and regulators to create thought leadership by promoting policy positions and visions and technology capabilities.

  • Assist Ericsson to implement policy and procedure.

Preferred Qualification & Experience Requirements:


  • Post-secondary degree in law, business administration, science or a similar area.


  • Highly developed understanding of national policies, regulations and legislation, and associated processes and key stake holders.


  • Extensive network within the government which you can leverage.


  • Ability to identify, analyse and describe significance of regulatory (and related policy) initiatives and trends to the telecom market in general and to Ericsson’s customers and business.


  • Ability to influence and lobby based on effective communication and active engagement.


  • Strong direct exposure to the process of forming and legislating public policy, ideally including experience working in the office of a state or federal parliamentarian.


  • Experience within telco will be highly regarded.


  • Highly developed communication skills, verbal and written to work effectively with internal & external stakeholders.
