Responsibilities & Tasks
We are looking for someone who is passionate in driving media relations, news flow and outreach in coordination with key stakeholder in Ericsson Europe and Latin America. As an External Communication director for Europe, you will have the overall responsibility for this on a regional level covering UK and Ireland and Europe and Latin America wide activations! In this role, you will be diving Ericsson brand visibility and deliver wins for key topics such as 4G, 5G, Innovation, Digital Experiences, and other exciting new areas.
You will be activating global/local campaigns in relevant local channels and building and managing local media relations and outreach. It will be your role to lead the area’s editorial board and own regional media news flow activation, production, and news flow insights. You will be responsible for regional crisis management as well as planning and drive digital activation.
You will also track and analyze editorial agendas and opportunities aligned with the regional M&C calendar and coordinate news flow activation on all media channels. Part of this role is to then channel follow-up of content consumption and learnings for continuous improvements and partner with customer marketing, internal communication and strategic marketing to activate global and regional programs and initiatives. The regional PR agency should also be managed. You will need to identify and manage speaking opportunities and coach spokespeople acting as speaker’s bureau as well as provide support for external communications.
Requirements for this role
Have you driven traditional and digital media activities and contributed to significantly increasing brand awareness? Are you a passionate and creative individual with a university degree in Business, Marketing, Communications or equivalent training/experience with significant related experience? We are looking for someone with experience working in a global or regional leadership team who ideally has team leadership potentials; experience working in a dynamic and fast moving environment and understanding of digital communications.
The key deliverables we are looking for are:
- Create, review/edit and manage approval of PR and news items such as by-line, Op-piece and statement
- Experience managing media crisis
- Drive newsjacking-proactively earn the media
- Manage Speaker's bureau- speech opportunities, message book and spokesperson training
- Provide timely Market insight – top items in the news and flag any opportunities
- Create and manage blog posts
- Manage editorial calendar and weekly highlights
- Create relevant report and dashboard for key stakeholders
