Our Exciting Opportunity

This is a new Management position within Business Finance leading two teams - Project Controller and Contract Project Finance Accounting (PFA). This position is a regional role that reports to Head of Business Finance in the Market Area North East Asia.

This role can be based in either Mainland China or Japan.


We are looking for

  • A person who has worked extensively with Project Controlling and have the ability to drive financial performance and financial risk management in contracts/ project execution
  • Strong Passion to lead and build teams of finance professionals and leading change 
  • Experience in accounting assessment, advice and treatments to provide support the business with advice, decisions and directives implementation.
  • Lead the market area project control and project finance accountant transformation together with the group function finance. The objective is to strengthen Project Controlling and Project Finance Accounting that create business value and meet compliance requirement.
  • Someone who wants to engage actively with the business stakeholders from project finance perspective – Customer Unit teams, Key Account Managers (Project Sponsor), Operations, Project Directors/ Project Managers and Commercial Management, etc.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively to business stakeholders and collaborate cross function teams in Market Area, Business Area and Group Functions.


You Will:

  • Together with the team, Secure & drive financial insight and control over customer programs & projects through driving financial control, financial risk management and stakeholder engagement in customer program/project execution.
  • Secure financial control and financial governance review is established within the project governance framework
  • During Pre sales and Contracting, identify and address project portfolio control and performance related risk in Business Case (Profit/Loss, Balance Sheet including Working Capital and Cash Flow efficiency), ensuring ability to follow up during execution. 
  • During Set Up and Execution, Contribute to Actions that will have positive impact to (i) Time – meeting the lead time, project schedule (or improved) (ii) Cost -  meet the plan budget (or improved) (iii) Time - Time – Meet/ better that plan baseline, Improved Lead Time to Key Milestone, Acceptance and Billing (iv) Risk – Identification, Assessment and Key Financial Risk Mitigations (v) WCAP –Optimized Inventory, Unbilled, Billed (AR) Levels and Aging
  • Secure Contract Assessment & Accounting Setup are performed in line with Accounting directives (including DRRES), reassessment, escalations and compliance activities


To be successful in this role you must have:

  • Bachelor degree or above in Finance o Accounting or Business Administration or equivalent experiences
  • Minimum 8 years in project control, finance control, business control or equivalent roles
  • Financial Model and Accounting Directives Knowledge (IFRS) 
  • Experience in leading teams
  • Effective Stakeholder engagement and proactive
  • Financial analysis, accounting & reporting Skills
  • Excellent persuading and influencing skills
  • Ability to collaborate cross functions
