We are

Business Area Networks, and we are responsible for the company’s industry leading radio products and solutions and is the foundation for Ericsson’s technology leadership. We are now strengthening our team within Mechanical Design and are looking for the next generation of creative engineers who will make sure we stay technology leaders in the telecom industry. We develop an increasing number of products where every generation delivers improved value to our customers, with high demands on quality and robustness in harsh outdoor environments. Our solutions must be cost efficient and have a low total cost of ownership as well as delivering top performance with regard to technology density, usability and sustainability.


Our Exciting Opportunity

As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you are a member of a mechanical design team and participate in the design of Ericsson's future products, like 5G radios.

In this role you will get the opportunity to both participate in pre-development activities where we study overall and detailed aspects of technology to come, as well as being part of product development projects. Some of your responsibilities will be performed individually, but most of them will be in cross-disciplinary teams both locally and globally. You typically interact with other technical disciplines such as Thermal, Interconnect, Printed Board Assembly, Industrial Design as well as mechanical suppliers and partners and Ericsson’s global production organization.


As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you will be an important member of our team and participate in the design of Ericsson's next generation radio network products! The role will offer you many opportunities to grow, both within the field of engineering and as a professional.


You will

  • work with Mechanical design of 5G telecom equipment enclosures. Typically aluminum die casted, plastic injection molded and steel sheet metal components.
  • deliver designs that are top performing with regard to in-field robustness, cost efficiency, high technology density, electro-mechanical design, usability, modularity and sustainability.
  • perform pre-development work to secure technical leadership with a 2-5 year horizon
  • execute development project work.
  • perform individual tasks as well as interact in cross disciplinary design teams, both locally, globally, internally and externally.


To be successful in the role you are

  • a soon to be or recent graduate holding a degree in: Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Design Engineering or similar.
  • creative, innovative and eager to learn.
  • a person with team working skills who is eager to share learnings and insights with colleagues.
  • a good communicator and proficient in English.
  • someone with experience with a MCAD tool, preferably Creo.
  • a person with genuine interest in mechanical engineering, preferably with experience in die casting or injection molding design.
