Our Exciting Opportunity

We are looking for a Mixed Signal Functional system designer with outstanding knowledge in radio HW and good SW understanding.

The Digital Radio Implementation group belonging to Common Radio Module (CRM) sector and the digital and mixed signal department with PDU Radio, has the responsibility to implement near antenna algorithmic solutions for radio ASICs (Application Specific Integrated Circuits) and FPGAs (Field-Programmable Gate Arrays). The radio System-on-Chip (SoC) is the heart of the Ericsson radio units, which are part of Ericsson’s 2G, 3G, 4G and 5 G base stations. The focus area of the organizational unit is to work with algorithm and verification teams to ensure that the delivered IP fulfils the requirements of the radio solutions the IP will be delivered to.

This position reports to the Unit Manager.

 

Your primary role will be to work with our Mixed Signal radio development activities at the Ericsson design center in Sweden (Kista) and cooperate with our global sites in China and Canada. You will also have contact with external chipset suppliers to assure that technology development is in sync with Ericsson’s needs.

 

You will also:

  • Specify, implement, verify, release, and maintain digital functional blocks
  • Continuously improve and optimize ways of working
  • Generate documentation
  • Secure design quality

 

Your role will include activities such as: Develop and/or improve functional requirements and solutions which describe the behavior of Mixed Signal functions of the system.

 

Examples of these functions are:

  • Receiver AGC (Automatic Gain Control)
  • Power Amplifier protection functions
  • Start-up procedure of Mixed Signal ASIC-s
  • BIST (Build-In Self-Test)

 

To be successful in the role you have

  • MSc level in a technical area or the equivalent level of education
  • Several years of relevant work experience
  • Experience in digital ASIC/FPGA development
  • Experience in RTL design using System Verilog
  • Communication and presentation skills in English

 

Following experiences will be a beneficial asset

  • Digital Hardware low level systemization
  • High Level Synthesis
  • Verification using UVM methodology
  • Experience in Agile way of working
