Our Exciting Opportunity
Graphs representing network data are an expressive representation for aggregating data-sets from heterogeneous information sources. Temporal features that emerge from, both temporal featured link/vertices and the dynamic structural evolution of such representations, need to be identified and later processed by learning algorithms. For example, relational information, link strength and dependencies between 2 samples can be time-variant. Recent research has progressed in producing embeddings with heterogeneity, temporality and structural scalability, producing node- and graph-level representations of complex networks. Yet, a fascinating research area of interest is concerned with how to produce valuable insights with such embeddings, especially targeting event sequences in such graphs. Mobile network data provide a rich relational information source for such tasks.

 

In this project, you will

  • Investigate several algorithms and graph embedding techniques for graph representation learning in the context of mining events from temporal graphs.
  • Report to Machine Reasoning Sector Manager

 

This opening is for one MSc student or graduate. The thesis work is offered by Ericsson, conducted under joint supervision by Ericsson Research as well as the host university of the student where the results will be reported back to Ericsson.
The scope of the work will be defined collaboratively with the industrial supervisors and is expected to include specification and guidance of the tasks, where the student will receive support throughout the project, both in terms of research mentorship as well as the technical guidance and resources.

 

To be successful in the role you must have

  • Most of your MSc courses completed (in Computer Science, Data Science, Machine Learning, Electrical and Computer Engineering or similar area)
  • Strong programming skills in Python.
  • Skills or course on research methods.
  • Courses in the topics of Adv. Machine Learning, Representation Learning, Adv. Data Mining and Adv. Deep Learning (Graphs will be considered a merit)
  • Solid communication skills.
  • Fluent English.
