About this opportunity

The IoT and Cyber-Physical Systems Technologies team at Ericsson Research is looking a student to work on a Master Thesis project to address some of the most relevant challenges in the transition towards the next generation IoT platform that supports distributed AI that spans edge, fog and cloud deployments involving IoT devices and technologies. The project will ideally take place between January 2022 and August 2022.

 

Ericsson Research is the central research organization within Ericsson. We are over 700 researchers in eight countries. Our mission is to provide Ericsson with system concepts, technology, and intellectual property, to secure long-term success and competitiveness of Ericsson.

This is an opportunity for you to further explore the exciting field of distributed intelligence that encompasses the wide range of IoT applications in different domains and verticals. You will apply research in the intersection between system, platforms and networks, along with demonstrating your pioneering ideas, energy, enthusiasm and skill to redefine future connected devices and intelligent machines.

In addition, we believe you have:

  • Interest and experience in at least one of the following areas: IoT protocols, serverless and functions orchestration, semantic technologies, pub/sub, REST and UI development.
  • Experience with docker containers and kubernetes
  • Programming experience in Python, HTML, NodeJS, Databases, Node-RED
  • Ability to formulate problems and solve them independently and in groups
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to acquire new knowledge, apply it, and spread it to others
  • Strong communication skills in written and spoken English and good presentation skills
