Business Area Networks: where 5G was born! We’re a global team of approx. 30,000 in 93 countries, with 126 nationalities represented. About half of us work in R&D, approx. 6,000 in Group Supply and 5,000 in Service Area Networks. Together we create future-proof, scalable network architectures in an industry that is constantly on the move.


Our Exciting Opportunity:

Our unit Business Area Networks (Standards and Technology) is responsible for securing future technology leadership for Ericsson Mobile Networks impacting our product design in the 3-5 years perspective. We are now looking for a Software Technology Researcher with the ability to understand and program sophisticated software systems that will enable the future generation of Radio Access Networks.


You will:

  • Be a part of a highly proficient team working with both analytical tools
  • Cooperate with different Ericsson units as well as external partners, universities and customers


We expect you to:

  • Be solution oriented, self-driven and a good team-player
  • Have excellent level in English, both written and spoken
  • Have outstanding communication skills, and the ability to build networks



The candidate for this position is expected to have a PhD in the area of computer science or information technology. She/he will be familiar with some of the following areas:

  • Virtualization techniques,
  • Real-time systems,
  • Cyber-physical systems
  • Heterogeneous embedded systems
  • Understanding of 3GPP based telecom systems (beneficial)
