Our Exciting Opportunity

The successful candidate will play a very important and critical role in Ericsson's global patent licensing program. The Patent Assertion Lawyer will work closely with senior members of the Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) & Licensing organization worldwide!

 

The Patent Assertion Lawyer will be involved in developing patent assertion and enforcement strategy of Ericsson’s industry-leading portfolio of over 54,000 patents!

You will:

  • Actively support Ericsson's out-licensing activities by helping to identify potential licensees and provide detailed technical analysis
  • Map patents against the products and services being provided by such potential licensees, participating in licensing negotiations and lead relevant technical discussions
  • Support any litigation that may be needed to effectively license Ericsson’s Intellectual Property (IP)
  • Play a major role in negotiations with potential licensees by conducting technical discussions
  • Assess and evaluate third party patents and portfolios
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of working processes to further enhance Ericsson’s patent portfolio strength

To be successful in the role you must have:

  • Top academic credentials from an ABA accredited law school and undergraduate degree with Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or similar field
  • Five (5) or more years of demonstrated experience as a practicing attorney in the areas of patent litigation, patent enforcement or patent licensing.
  • Ability to independently handle enforcement activities to successful conclusion
  • Be admitted to practice in at least one of the states in the U.S.
  • Outstanding presentation and negotiation skills
  • Ability to work and contribute in a collaborative work environment

You might also have:

  • Registration/qualification to practice before a national Patent Office
