About this opportunity

NR is the next generation of broadband wireless technology. The NR base station Physical layer software development team is seeking a software designer to join the Ericsson NR Base Station development group. This role consists in coding, testing and integrating leading edge product functionalities. The role requires an individual who demonstrates an entrepreneurial spirit, possesses strong team working and communication skills, and is familiar with 4G/5G wireless protocols.

What you will do

  • Develop and/or test software, implement new functionalities in C, C++, and python, often in a multi-core target environment
  • Perform continuous analysis and Requirement Handling
  • Apply knowledge of Real-Time Software development and wireless communication protocols (e.g. 5G, LTE, WCDMA, WiFi)
  • Work in a lab environment to trouble-shoot and integrate sophisticated new pieces of software
  • Perform software deliveries using a software version control system
  • Develop automated test cases to ensure existing functionality is never degraded by new software
  • Detail all system assessments, software designs and test plans
  • Follow an Agile product development process, working collaboratively in small teams

You will bring

  • Basic understanding of the LTE/NR standard is required.
  • Knowledge of the LTE/NR Physical Layer and antennas technologies is an asset.
  • Strong skills in embedded real-time software development is mandatory.
  • Experience with software development for multi cores' architecture is an asset.
  • Experience with Digital Signal Processing theory and applications is an important asset.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills, and willingness to spend time in a lab environment integrating sophisticated piece of software.
  • Preference will be given to individuals with proven track records in software development related to data communication and wireless technologies.
  • Experienced with GIT is required.
  • B.Sc. in Computer or Electrical Engineering Degree
  • 3 years of demonstrated ability in embedded software development.
