5G Baseband Software Senior Developer

Our Exciting Opportunity: 
We are now looking for a Software Developer to design, implement and integrate software functionality for Ericsson’s 5G Baseband products. Your role will include all software development activities such as: requirement analysis, system design, software design, integration, verification, Product Lifecycle Management support and product documentation. Our focus is on Lean and Agile ways of working. We organize in cross functional development teams in which continuous improvement, innovation and knowledge sharing is part of the daily work.



  • Develop software, implementing new functionalities in C / C++ code in a multi-core target environment
  • Perform continuous analysis and Requirements Handling     
  • Apply knowledge of Real-Time Software development and wireless communication protocols (e.g. 5G NR, LTE)
  • Work in a lab environment to trouble-shoot and integrate complex new pieces of software
  • Perform software deliveries using a software version control system
  • Develop automated test cases to ensure existing functionality is never degraded by new software
  • Document all system analysis, software designs and test plans
  • Follow an Agile product development process, working collaboratively in small cross-functional teams

Key Qualifications:

  • Experience with 3GPP NR/LTE L1 and L2 development/design. This includes the MAC (Control and Data plane), PHY, RLC and PDCP layers.
  • Excellent knowledge in C/C++ programming languages, writing optimized and maintainable source code
  • Excellent knowledge in Linux environments 
  • Software development in a multi-core deployment scenario
  • Experience with software debugging, log analysis and system level troubleshooting
  • Experience working in a git/gerrit based development flow 
  • Experience working in a CI based development environment using jenkins or similar
  • Bachelor’s degree (Master’s degree preferred) in Computer Science, Engineering or Telecommunications
  • +5 years of work experience in wireless communications industry.
  • Excellent communication skills in verbal and written English

Additional Requirements: 

  • Experience with scripting languages, tools development or test automation are assets
