About this opportunity

We are building a new R&D team in Massy, France, including a Standards & Technology unit, part of Development Unit Networks’ global Standards & Technology organization. At Development Unit Networks Standards & Technology, we secure technology leadership in Radio Access Networks (RAN) by actively driving New Concepts, Standardization, SW- and HW Research, Architecture and Testbeds.

You’ll get the opportunity to

Ericsson is looking for a Master student who has strong backgrounds in wireless communications for 5G and AI for Physical layer aspects. The position scope is in 3GPP (3rd Generation Partnership Project) RAN4 standardization area, where you will help in drawing our views and modeling the optimized AI-based Rel-18 receivers. You will have the chance to collaborate with a cross-organizational team and have opportunities to learn and work with top industry researchers on the latest process in 5G and beyond.


Key skills

  • Master student candidate in Electrical engineering or related field (such as mathematics/Computer Eng).

  • Solid theoretical background in Signal processing for MIMO, OFDM, AI, and mmWave radio communications.

  • Solid knowledge of 3GPP 5G NR standard (36 and 38 TS Series is a plus.)

  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to formulate problems and solve them independently

  • Experience in carrying out simulations using link level simulators (build with Matlab, C/C++ and/or Python)

  • Skills in Machine Learning theory and AI.

  • Good communication skills in written and spoken English (French is a plus).
