About this opportunity

As an ICT Architect in the Security & Architecture unit in BNEW SAN Lab Operations, your role is to ensure that we have the input needed to make informed technical decisions and to push innovation both inside our organization and our partner organizations in Ericsson. We drive relevant technology changes in our service delivery to guarantee that Ericsson's R&D community has the best possible test & development environment for its delivery of high-quality products to our customers. Your responsibilities will include owning/driving technical inquiries and collaborating with others to improve the working environment for our users!

 

What you will do

When you join, your new team's responsibility is to drive architectural change within Lab Operations while ensuring that improvements align with our architecture and strategy. You will work with today's technology and have the chance to bring to life your view of what the future should be.

Your job will include understanding our architecture today and the services we offer. This will help you shepherd the organization forward as we continue our transformation into a service delivery organization.

As an architect in our team, your strength lies in your holistic thinking since we have overall architectural responsibility for the services that we provide in all of our global labs. Today, these services include the areas of networking, storage, management infrastructure, security, and enabling services for all of these. If you have broad IT knowledge, that's excellent! If you also have particular skills in one or more areas, that's an excellent merit.

 

You will bring

  • Architectural experience within the IT area
  • Broad understanding of relevant technologies, i.e., storage solutions, IT security, IP networking, and their use in large enterprise environments
  • Expertise in one area is beneficial
  • Hands-on experience with today's IT systems, giving your technological expertise a foundation in today's reality
  • A desire for technological excellence and knowledge, including (but not necessarily limited to):
    • Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS)
    • AI, Machine learning, and automation in IT
    • Datacenter and WAN networking
    • Storage, both today's and software-defined storage systems
    • Monitoring systems
    • Enabling services such as time services, DNS, DHCP, etc.
  • A collaborative spirit since our team only succeeds when working with others to reach our goals
  • A wide contact network within Ericsson or a demonstrable ability to build such a network
  • Good organizational skills for handling a constantly evolving work environment

 

Your immediate interfaces are:

  • The manager and team lead as well as peer architects in the unit
  • Service Domain Managers who are managing services in Lab Ops portfolio
  • Solution and Service Architect communities in Lab Ops and stakeholder organizations
