About this opportunity

To scale our operations and meet the demands of our customers, the Ericsson US 5G Smart Factory is hiring additional Team Leads for our Surface Mount Assembly (SMA) Lines. The SMA Team Lead will motivate their team, drive production, be organized, and promote safety to produce some of the most sophisticated circuit boards on the planet. These boards will then be used in the equipment that makes the 5G connection on your phone possible. The chosen candidate must be comfortable with both high-volume production and new product introduction.

What you will do

Drive Production

  • Develop understanding of and ability to complete daily and weekly production plan to achieve output goals
  • Ensure operator adherence to working times, quality standards, and work instructions for both assembly- and test-related operations
  • Understand assembly operations and processes to enable proper assignment of resources and troubleshooting of line-level issues
  • Initiate daily production in collaboration with Supervisor including actions such as dispatching production orders and ordering components
  • Create accurate end-of-shift report for Production management and Leadership Team
  • Deliver clear, transparent, and engaging readout of production status on daily call
  • Communicate cross-functionally and raise issues through proper channels including leaders through Production and Warehouse, Maintenance and Engineering, and Quality

Provide Leadership on the Line

  • Mentor and motivate members of the team
  • Resolve low-level conflicts between operators within your line
  • Document feedback on operator performance in provided tools
  • Support Technical Trainers in guiding new employees to have a positive onboarding experience
  • Act as backup for Supervisors when they are off the production floor

Apply 5S Methodology

  • Lead changeovers between products on your line ensuring recipe and component alignment to new product and orchestration of movements on production floor using provided checklists
  • Ensure assembly line is clean and adheres to 5S principles during shift handover
  • Execute non-conforming material processes

Promote Safety

  • Encourage safe working practices and enforce safety procedures and use of PPE
  • Identify and raise safety issues and incidents to Supervisors in a timely manner
  • Function as point person during emergency events
  • Understand vital processes for handling workplace injury on factory floor
  • Lead twice daily stretches
  • Promote, understand, and strictly adhere to all safety, environmental, and quality guidelines without deviation.

  • High level of interpersonal skills
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively
  • Ability to lead, coach, and motivate others
  • Proactive spirit; fast learner
  • Commitment to providing high-quality work

Ideal Qualifications

  • Experience in a SMT/SMA production environment
  • Previous leadership and/or people management experience
  • Relevant technical education and computer literacy
  • Familiarity with Electrostatic Discharge precautions
  • Ability to work overtime and/or flexible shift hours when required
