Our Exciting Opportunity


We are looking for a Principal Security Specialist to join Ericsson Security Assurance, part of Product Security. As a Principal Security Specialist, you will be a part of an expert team supporting Ericsson products and solutions in security assurance. You will get your hands on anything and everything between cellular radio systems and IoT clouds - all critical to modern digital society. Our team of ethical hackers tests and tries to break Ericsson’s products to provide assurance and verification that they will be safe and secure to use.


In your role as Principal Security Specialist, you are expected to drive, steer and guide complex security assurance related projects and support your colleagues. You will be involved in coaching and advising Ericsson’s product development units in creating secure products by providing feedback on their security posture. You’ll work with other teams throughout Ericsson assessing the risks of the solutions that Ericsson delivers by participating in vulnerability assessments, threat modeling, design reviews and provide advice on how to improve security and recommend solutions. From time to time, you will take part in technical security assessments as a lead penetration tester.


To be successful in the role we believe that you have several years of experience in one or more of the following areas:


- Penetration testing

- Vulnerability analysis

- Secure software development




The ideal candidate also has the following:


- BSc/MSc in Computer Science or related technical discipline, or equivalent practical experience.

- Exceptional understanding of common network protocols like IP networks, operating systems and databases.

- Good understanding of web application technologies and protocols.

- Strong communication skills and a natural inclination to collaborate.

- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.

- Able to lead security testing projects as technical lead.

- Genuine interest in software development and product & application security.

- Is a self-starter and has natural ability to get things done.

- Excellent project management, organizational, time management, and interpersonal skills.

- Strategic mindset to be able to understand dependencies and identify future focus points.


Knowledge / experience in the following is an advantage:


- Network Security and information security standards.

- Software development skills.

- Telco specific test tools and knowledge.

- Risk Assessment and threat modeling methodologies and tools.

- Open source and commercial security testing tools.

- Certifications like CISSP, OSCP, GIAC or other industry recognized certifications.


The team is based in Jorvas, Finland but for this position an employment with another Ericsson location within Europe can be taken into consideration.


Approved security clearance may be required for the position and will be carried out for the selected applicant if necessary.
