Our Exciting Opportunity


Ericsson Research Cloud Systems and Platforms is looking for a driven and creative researcher to join our team of world-class professionals. In this role, you will work together with 5G and 6G standardization professionals, defining mobile communication.

Our diverse team collaborate intensively within the research areas, as well as with other research and development organizations, both within and outside the company. We have access to and collaborate with world leading specialists in our field of work.

Our work involves crafting IPR, offer insights, and provide cloud related expertise to impact Ericsson business and products, to enable the journey to 5G Evolution and beyond.

Our team is working with distributed systems, multi-cloud, confidential computing, isolation and ML/AI driver operations in the context mobile networks.


This position is based in Jorvas, Finland, and you will report to Research Leader Tomas Mecklin.

You will

  • Represent Ericsson as a delegate in 3GPP
  • Develop and drive new 5G features in 3GPP
  • Communicate results, a very important aspect of the work we do!


To be successful in the role you must have

  • A master's degree or equivalent, a PhD, or a Licentiate degree, in a technical area
  • Analytical thinking combined with a healthy dose of creativity
  • The ability to express and demonstrate ideas, to acquire and apply new knowledge, and to transfer this to others
  • Industry understanding, ability to develop strategies and prioritize activities
  • Excellent social, collaboration, communication and innovation skills with high energy and motivation


Additional qualifications

Experience from standardisation, research, product development or customer relations are considered valuable merits.
