Our Exciting Opportunity:
We are now looking for an IPR Commercialization Manager to drive the strategic direction of Ericsson’s Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) & Licensing activities. In this position, you will handle business critical patent portfolios, analyze business opportunities, and drive licensing and assertion projects.
Job Summary:
The Director of IPR and Licensing will drive the strategic direction of Ericsson’s Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) & Licensing activities in the Japan market. In this position, you will lead Ericsson’s licensing account engagements, business development, and partnership programs for the Japan market. This position requires a successful track record of IPR Licensing and Business Development experience along with well established relationships within the IPR community in Japan including with executives and other decision makers with prospective licensees including Handset, Consumer Electronics, Auto and other relevant industries. This position will report to VP of Global Licensing.
Key Qualifications:
- Bachelor Degree in Business, Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications or equivalent.
- 5-10 years of experience as a successful IPR Licensing Manager/Director with a proven track record of closing deals.
- Established relationships with senior executives, corporate and outside counsels, and other senior decision makers in the IPR and Licensing community.
- In-depth knowledge of general patent licensing, SEP licensing, IP law, contracts, and patent assertion.
- Self-starter, motivated, and driven to develop prospects, lead engagements, advance negotiations, and close deals.
- Team player with the ability to partner with cross functional groups, including Patent Assertion, IP Strategy, Legal, and Management.
- Proficiency with the English and Japanese Languages
