About this opportunity

CTO supports individual KAMs in terms of customer discussions on technology evolution and innovation at high level, not digging into individual products and solutions, with close interactions with them.  CTO should represent Ericsson externally keeping good relationship with relevant stakeholders.  Through those activities, it is expected that Ericsson be recognized as the technology leader in this industry, as described above

 

What you will do

Support for customer discussions and business development, e.g. local 5G

 -Collaborate with KAM and solutions teams, with support from HQ as needed, to target customers and potential customers and gain their confidence in Ericsson's technical leadership and Ericsson's vision.

 

Internal CTO network activities

-To get updated in new technology trend and innovation, technology policy, new trend in technology-driven businesses, and products and solutions

 

Forum activities related to 5G and B5G (B5G Standardization Consortium, other official forum support)

-Contribute to discussions with Forum members (including MIC, operators, academia and other vendors) on 5G evolution and B5G from Ericsson's perspective, based on Ericsson's policy and technical considerations.

 

Engagements in technical discussions in MIC committees including support for some committee members  (Advisory role for committee members)        

-To contribute to regulatory discussions from the technical aspects and for some controversial discussions from the Ericsson policy/position perspective

 

Academic activities (Papers, IEICE presentations)

-To contribute to academic activities based on Ericsson’s technology vision and relevant technology components

 

Media and analyst interviews on Ericsson strategy and solutions   (Telecommunication, Impress, Nikkei, New Media, analyst companies)

-To contribute to journal and news articles, and analyst reports including on-line ones based on Ericsson technology, strategy, products and solutions

 

Media briefing   (MWC, Mobility Report, Ericsson Forum etc., handling analysts, event support )

-To explain about innovative Ericsson  technology, solutions and products, and about our reports in an easy-to-understand way

 

External presentations   (Wireless Japan, ET & IoT, Interop, external seminars etc.)

-To present Ericsson cutting-edge technology, products and solutions to let the audience understand and support Ericsson better

 

Private presentations for enterprises

-To present Ericsson cutting-edge technology, products and solutions to let enterprise audience understand and support Ericsson better

 

You will bring

Need extensive knowledge/experience in mobile technology and business. (Technology≧business)        

-Experience of working in technical/engineering field for more than 10 years required with deep understanding in overall mobile network architecture and technical specifications including radio network, core network and transport

Good understanding of Ericsson products and solutions in the radio, core, enabler and OSS/BSS areas as well as latest technology foundations such as cloud, AI/ML, internet, IoT, XR etc. expected.

 

Communication        

-Ability to explain about cutting-edge technology and latest products and solutions to the media and the public in an easy-to-understand way

Capability to establish networking with the relevant people in the customer organizations, government, academia, analysts and technical community, and keep sustainable relationships with trust

 

Leadership        

-Capability to influence the industry based on Ericsson technology and solutions

Internally to educate Ericsson Japan employees in the areas of cutting-edge technology

 

Proficiency with the English and Japanese Languages
