Our Exciting Opportunity

Ericsson Research Brazil is looking for a Researcher to work with activities that are underway in mobile communication networks. The main topics for this role include network control and management, network orchestration and automation, including machine learning and AI applied to network automation. This person will become a member of Ericsson Research (ER), the research organization within Ericsson, and will report to a research manager. ER is a global organization present in ten countries with headquarters in Stockholm/Sweden. We collaborate with research teams in which continuous improvement, innovation, and knowledge sharing are part of the daily work! This position is based in Indaiatuba/São Paulo.

Activities:

  • Work with multi-national teams and projects in the cloud, network orchestration and management, and network automation based on ML/AI;
  • Engage in research projects that involve concept work as well as prototyping;
  • Develop novel and innovative ideas, generate patents, publish results at conferences and journals
  • Communicate the work to the Ericsson business units, global customers, standardization groups, and at technical conferences;

To be successful in the role:

We are looking for newly graduated or about to graduate Ph.D., or a concluded MSc in the field of Engineering, Computer Science or similar technical field. Industry experience is a plus.

  • Analytical thinking, creativity, and strong personal drive and dedication.
  • Consistent record of good knowledge on mobile communication networks, preferably also applying Machine Learning or AI techniques to tackle problems
  • Ability to express and demonstrate the findings and knowledge to others
  • Advance communication in English /Good communication level in Spanish is a plus.

Desirable experience in one or more of the following topics:

  • Network control and management;
  • Network orchestration and automation;
  • Network functions virtualization (NFV);
  • Machine learning, AI applied to network automation;
  • IP and transport networks;
  • Virtualized Radio Access Networks (vRAN).
