About this opportunity

Product Development Unit Cloud and Common (PDU)  is a development organization within Business Area Cloud Software and Services. PDU is a cornerstone of the Ericsson platforms and components strategy and develops components and products and microservices used by applications across Ericsson.

We are on the interesting journey to make Secondary Network Provider (SENP) a commercial product and now looking for an eager person to contribute to our success.

Network Service Mesh (NSM), also referred to as Secondary Network Provider (SENP) is an approach to solve L2/L3 use cases in Kubernetes that are tricky to address with the current Kubernetes Network Model. NSM is inspired by Istio which covers L3/L4.

NSM is an open-source project (https://networkservicemesh.io/) and solves L2/L3 use cases which are not addressed by the Kubernetes network model.

It allows VPN/traffic separation in a Cloud Native way using the Kubernetes environment and can handle different network configurations. E.g: LI, media, O&M. SENP is a sandbox project in CNCF and allows an industry-aligned approach.
