Our Exciting Opportunity !

 

We are now looking for a Product Owner to contribute to the evolution of the development of the Ericsson Intelligent Automation Platform and Automation Applications (rApps) that enable higher operation efficiency, improved network performance and better subscriber experience.

Our ambition is to establish an OSS ecosystem, which will be the foundation of an open multi-vendor automation solution for Intelligent RAN Automation for both purpose-built RAN (Radio Access Networks) and cloud-RAN.

 

We are embracing a start-up mentality to deliver our automation product that delights customers, breaks the complexity of network management, and brings innovation at record speed!

 

This open app ecosystem will also facilitate customers' contributions that will realize their own specific use cases.

This is an opportunity to work on a major R&D program and be part of the most disruptive technology areas today. You will meet, learn and leverage concepts of automation, self-learning, cloud-native microservices and dev-ops development models. The development will include creation of a cloud native platform for micros-services capable of deployment on multiple clouds with lab engagements starting during 2021.

About half of the development teams are located in Budapest and responsible for several microservices. Our multinational organization with its diverse culture supports a creative environment for innovation and creates products based on ideas from engineers — just like you. Besides software development, we are in close collaboration with supporting operations units in Ericsson with our Site Reliability Engineers within our teams.

 

You will

 

  • Explain “What” and “Why” to the agile teams you will work with
  • Lead break-down of features into user stories
  • Maintain and prioritize the work within the team backlog
  • Balance new features and improvements as product life cycle responsible jointly with the Lead Product Owner who is responsible for the business requirements from product development perspective
  • Provide effort estimates and timeline for deliveries based on the teams’ input
  • Secure product quality and maintainability
  • Build, maintain and communicate business understanding
  • Accept or reject the team’s work result
  • Say “no” when necessary and propose alternative options
  • Highlight risks in development
  • Collaborate with Strategic Product Managers and Program Managers
  • Report progress of new features
  • Represent your area on the relevant forums

 

 

To be successful in the role you must have

 

  • Few years experience in a Product Owner role
  • Free thinking, influential individual who is energized working on a high-powered team
  • Quality and excellence are the first words from your mouth in any conversation.
  • Roadblocks are fun problems to solve rather than impediments to your success
  • Seeker of knowledge from all walks of life who loves to find applicability of different paradigms to new domains
  • Effectively communicate and build relationships with people both close and from afar
  • Lean and Agile knowledge forming the pillars of a flexible organization
  • Ability and willingness to quickly adopt new technologies and/or business domains
  • Experience in software development

 

 

It's a huge plus if you have:

 

  • Understanding integration of open-source software
  • Some experience with different virtualization and orchestration technologies (Docker, Kubernetes, Azure)
  • Data and stream processing competence: Kafka, Spark
  • Familiarity with building and deploying automation, CI/CD, Jenkins, Artifactory, Docker, Helm charts
  • Experience with creating robust and highly scalable product
  • Knowledge of software defined networking (SDN) trends
  • BS or MS in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or equivalent is required
