Ericsson Hungary is looking for Product Development Leader IP Load Balancing.

PDU Component Development (PDU CD) is a unit which is a part of the R&D unit within BA Digital Services (BDGS). PDU Component Development is responsible of common assets for multi-users across Ericsson as well as maintaining CBA governance framework, Licensing products and Micro Services – part of the Application Development Platform. The PDU is a corner stone of Ericsson to enable maximized return on investment in R&D by promoting reuse and reducing time to market. We develop world class software!


The PDU consists of about 300 Ericsson people plus engaging about 300 persons at suppliers. The PDU is a global organization with main governance in Sweden, with operations in Hungary, Canada, Finland, Italy, India, Russia, Vietnam and Australia.


PDU CD is an exciting place to be with international teams spread on different continents where we are in a portfolio transformation getting ready for the IT/Cloud world and we are in constant change making ourselves better and better in a changing environment.

Our Development Center, located in Stockholm, Budapest and Jorvas, with operations in Vietnam and Australia, is developing Middleware, IP and OS products for various Ericsson applications.


We are now looking for a Section Manager for the IP Load Balancing team at Budapest.

The team is responsible for the co-development of eVIP, a software component used in CBA together with other XFTs within the PDU CD and at our suppliers site. The team is competent in external and internal IP connectivity to successfully support Ericsson VNFs into the Cloud journey.


In your role you will:

  • lead and coach individual and teams.
  • take care of people personal and professional growth.
  • secure that the organization has the needed capability and support to contribute to our operations
  • drive the long term technology evolution.
  • be responsible for budget, forecast, recruitment, and staffing within your area of responsibility.


    You will report to the Head of the unit Middleware IP&OS at PDU CD and is expected to be a team player as well as an active member of the Leadership Team, contributing to the success of the unit as an integrated part of the PDU CD.

    Requested competence:

  • Extensive knowledge, and recent successful track record of R&D International Line Leadership (Multi-Country) of SW Development, and solid knowledge of delivering Ericsson software products to GA.
  • Good business and market understanding and capable of seeing the big picture 
  • Proven strong leadership skills in particularly People and Thought leadership skills. You should be able to give clear examples of success stories that came from your Lean Management style and empowerment of people  
  • You are able to empower and inspire people to higher motivation in a larger organization. You are a good communicator and strive for continuous and open communication. 
  • Your attitude is characterized by "one Ericsson" and "Customer first"  
  • Proven successful track record in driving organizational innovation and Change Management through strong solution orientation. You are curious and have a constructive questioning behavior. 
  • Strong knowledge of Agile/Scrum and personal experience from its implementation and scaling in large development organizations with technically complex systems is a strong advantage.
  • Technology and/or product knowledge within the responsibility area of the DC is an advantage.
  • You have excellent interpersonal and verbal communication skills. You must be fluent in oral and written English and have excellent presentation skills.
