Kubernetes Engineer for 5G Cloud Native Core - Packet Core

About this opportunity

We at Ericsson Packet Core development are a very passionate team on the mission to build the world’s best Cloud Native Packet Core solution. We are now looking for Kubernetes engineers with an interest in Product security and privacy in Network Functions and Infrastructure. Join us if you like to come up with new ways to automate repetitive tasks so that you can focus on the more stimulating work instead. Like you, we believe software is more than just a job! Furthermore, we believe you are results-oriented, curious, and creative. It´s a plus if you have a keen understanding of IP protocols and IP-based routing in an embedded environment and a passion to learn and develop new skills.

We stand at the forefront of Agile software development, using methods like Lean and Scrum to create a product that excels. Our teams are multi-functional, self-organizing, international, and highly independent. This requires maturity and a ‘team first’ approach, which may not be right for everyone, but which we believe is the best way to create great software.

• Kubernetes
• Helm (2 & 3)
• Docker

What you will do

• Work with some of the best software engineers in Hungary
• Be working with high-performance application development, low latency requirements, multi-threaded/multi-process troubleshooting, and embedded system development in an environment with huge amounts of data
• Drive strategic technical leadership
• Develop and test high-quality products

You will bring

• BSc, MSc, or higher level in Computer Science or the equivalent level of knowledge
• Proven solid experience with Kubernetes
• Familiarity with cloud-native principles e.g. Scalability, service-based architecture, Kubernetes and network plugins, helm charts
• Scripting skills in for example Bash, Python, Perl
• Talent and passion for problem-solving and computer systems
• A curious demeanor and striving to continuously develop your knowledge
• Customer focus and ambition to understand needs on developed features
• Awareness of security and privacy principles e.g. Certificate handling, encryption, authentications, secure protocols (SSL, TLS, etc.) (advantage)
• Experience in Linux security (AppArmor or SELinux) (advantage)
