Overview
Product Development Unit Customer Experience Management & Analytics (PDU CEM & Analytics) is a newly created PDU in Development Unit IT & Cloud (DUIC). PDU CEM & Analytics is a global R&D unit with staff in Hungary, US, Canada, Finland and China. PDU CEM & Analytics is responsible for the development of the Ericsson Expert Analytics (EEA), the Location Based and Mobile Positioning System (LBS/MPS), the newly created Ericsson Security Manager (ESM) and the Authentication Federation Gateway (AFG) products and solutions in the Digital Business Systems area within Ericsson. 

 

Chief Systems Architect Product Development Group Ericsson Expert Analytics


We are looking for an experienced Chief Architect to join the Product Development Group (PDG) Ericsson Expert Analytics unit within our PDU CEM & Analytics. While this is a highly visible leadership role with multiple stakeholders, you are expected to be an active contributor and will manage risk and prevent the formation of technical debt and closely work with engineering and product teams. You will be responsible for the end-to-end system design, prototyping and governing all implementations. This role is based in Budapest. We look for system architects that are comfortable in every stage of the design and implementation process while simultaneously domain experts in one or more areas. You need to be able to dive as deep as deep can get and never be out of touch with the details.

 

Ericsson Expert Analytics is a powerful new tool offered to telecom operators producing immediately actionable customer insights in real time. Backed by specialized metrics for predicting customer satisfaction, Ericsson Expert Analytics provides the kind of deep understanding of customer behavior that allows service providers to proactively improve experience, satisfaction, average revenue per user and Net Promoter Score. Ericsson Expert analytics measures all perceived customer experiences based on metrics and events from network nodes, probes, devices, OSS/BSS and other sources. Our product platform combines Big Data methodologies and solutions with our unique complex event processing to create a state of the art analytics and decision management system.

Innovation and technical leadership in telecom analytics and infrastructure is needed to ensure we have a leading product with frequent new use cases for commercial deployment.

 

Responsibilities & Tasks:


• As head of EEA Architecture Board, responsible for key technical decisions in Ericsson Expert Analytics
• Drive the architecture and development design in the PDG and align strategy with Product Line CEM & Analytics and PDU CEM & Analytics S&T
• Apply structure, simplify and drive change in technical governance of EEA product
• Encourage innovative solutions and foster a hands on methodology with a can do attitude to ensure problems are accompanied with solutions that are easy to comprehend
• Be able to have technical dialogue with customers, and internal stakeholders responsible for OSS/BSS and analytics in Ericsson about EEA product
• Be committed and brave to drive changes outside formal frameworks and demonstrate the ability to adapt and learn new design and development techniques and foster this within the PDG Ericsson Expert Analytics
• Coach architecture team members in PDG EEA

We are looking for a dynamic, hands on, result focused Chief Architect that can perform both architecture, design and carry this into executable requirements and development goals.

You will be a member of the PDG Ericsson Expert Analytics Leadership Team and you will be expected to collaborate with our key stakeholders, including Product Line CEM & Analytics, PDU CEM & Analytics System & Technology and other parts of Ericsson relevant to the Ericsson Expert Analytics operations.

You will report to the Head of PDG EEA in PDU CEM & Analytics.

 

Requirements:


• Mininum of 7 years of software engineer or architect experience
• MSc degree
• Prior success in a real-world production environment
• Proven strong technical leadership skills
• Solid knowledge in big data technologies, data engineering, telecom protocols, distributed systems, scalability, automation, GUI design, User Experience
• Have experience with open-source projects, for example, Spark, Flink, Docker, Linux
• Good technical understanding of OSS/BSS product portfolio
• Possess a strong understanding of the big data and analytics industry (Hadoop distributions, big data cloud services, machine learning)
• Ability to lead, inspire and coach architecture team members
• Ability to apply structure, simplify and drive change in a multi-site, multi-cultural environment
• Has relentlessly high standards
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, passion for work and positive attitude
• Fluent in oral and written English

 

 Preferred Requirements:


• Familiar with data science, machine learning, machine intelligence
• Understanding of mobile network architecture and evulotion
• Desire to learn new technologies and systems with a hands on approach. Identify gaps and problems with the ability to turn them into opportunities and develop products into solutions within the unit coordinated and lead by your system management team
• PhD degree would be nice to have
• Ability and willingness to build new innovative products and solutions
• Examples of success stories where you have used innovation to create new products and/or business segments
